Teaching and Diving Conditions
Confined water dives (confined open water or swimming pool):
Azzurro - Dive Academy have a dedicated area in from of the dive center that provide confined water conditions, being ideal considering logistics and environmental conditions.
Open water dive conditions:
In S. Miguel, in the Azores, the water temperature usually varies from 16ºC to 19ºC, December to June, and 20ºC to 24ºC, July to November. Visibility is usualy good or very good, reaching, at its best, more then 30 meters.
Classroom details:
Azzurro - Dive Academy have a comfortable and fully equipped classroom, with TV, Wi-Fi, white board, desks and chairs, coffee, water and snacks available.
Things to see on fun dives:
The dive in S. Miguel are usually made in amazing volcanic underwater landscapes, with several arches, passages and swim through that make it always conic.
Marine life is rich, being a great place to see big groupers, stingrays, moray eels, trigger fishes, snappers, barracudas, manta rays, tunas, wahoos etc.

If you enjoy adventure and pushing your limits, the SSI Extended Range programs are for you. Going beyond the traditional boundaries of recreational diving, learning new skills, using new equipment, and being able to dive deeper and spend more time underwater are some of the appeals of these programs.

The Ecology Specialization Programs develop concepts and knowledge related to the understanding of marine life, in its specificity, and the various marine ecosystems. They place particular importance on environmental awareness, ecosystem preservation, and good sustainability practices related to marine environments.
